Although the weather has been toasty the last few days, we’re in for a change. There’s a very good chance there will be no masters swimming on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. When I asked Saturday, the plan was to make the call on Monday, Sept 7 on whether the pool will get shut down completely or just shut down for a couple days.
A reminder (in case you haven’t tried to sign up to swim on Labor Day yet), there is no masters swim on Labor Day.
Stay tuned for updates as they become available. And cover your tomatoes.
While I was away last week there was a hiccup with guidance coming from Boulder County Public Health . Supposedly all swimming would be limited to one person per lane, effectively ending Masters as a program. Yet just as quickly as the policy was handed down, it was reversed. Whatever the cause for the new policy or for that policy to be rescinded, it’s all good. Masters is back on.
We are currently scheduled to stay outside swimming at Sunset through Saturday, September 19. As with anything else these days, this schedule is subject to change, but for now it should be smooth sailing.
You wake up early, ready to swim, but realize that you forgot to reserve a spot. Oh no! What now? Here’s what you should do:
We are limited to 24, but we haven’t had more than 17 yet. There should be room for you.
First masters swimming workout in over 100 days is coming up tomorrow, Monday, June 22. Remember that you need to sign up in advance, or they won’t let you in. (Sign up here for activity 300303)
Right now Sunset has 8 lanes set up for lap swimming, and we’re allowed 3 per lane. As of 1:30 pm Sunday, 14 people are signed up. If you are thinking about it, sign up now!
I’ve set up a shorter-than-usual workout for two reasons. One: We all need to get in and get out between 6 and 7. Because Sunset is limited to 50 patrons, we need to get everyone out before people start rolling in for the next activity. Two: Everyone’s been out of the water for three months!
This is exciting! I’m looking forward to working through this together.
