Dec 28, 2019 Before After
In the “before”, Beejoy isn’t driving off the block with her legs, so her knees crumple a little bit, and she waits too long before taking her first stroke. In the “after”, Beejoy has a stronger push off (so her knees don’t buckle), and she waits a shorter (and better) time to take her first stroke.

Sep 1, 2018 Sep 15, 2018
Beejoy has been working breathing “early” in the stroke cycle — so her head is already down when she is recovering her arms. Next step: work on strong kick UP as well as down.
Sep 29, 2018 Before After
There’s been a little back-sliding in the “before” as far as late breathing is concerned. The timing is improved in the “after” clip, but there’s still a problem. If there needs to be a pause in the stroke, it should be in the extension up front — not at the end of the stroke right before the start of recovery.
Oct 13, 2018
These pics aren’t great, but they capture one of the primary things Beejoy needs to work on. In the first pic, she is lifting her head to breathe at the same time her arms are coming out of the water. You can’t have your entire upper body out of the water without sending your feet to the bottom (at least not without an enormous amount of momentum). In the second pic, she’s doing a better job of getting her head down early. Notice how her feet are closer to the surface.

December 15, 2018 – Beejoy shows some improvement here in her timing.

Sep 1, 2018 Before – After
I didn’t catch very good video today, but the “before” shows how Beejoy is completely cutting off the back half of her stroke. In the “after” she’s improved that, but still needs to work on getting the palm of her hand to face the wall behind her.
Sept 15, 2018 After
You can see improvements after discussing finishing off the stroke and then “pulling your hand out of your pocket” in order to initiate the stroke recovery from the elbow.
Oct 20, 2018 Before After
Notice how Beejoy is leading with her elbow and pulling her hand out of the water early in the “Before” video (dropped elbow, unfinished stroke). The stroke finish and elbow height are slightly better in the “After”, but she’s clearly not relaxed (notice the hunch in her back).

Backstroke
December 3, 2018 – Beejoy needs to work on less knee bend on the kick. Your knees should never break the surface!

December 15, 2018 – Here’s much improvement in the kick, but still using straight arm pull.
Breaststroke
There’s only one place to “rest” during breaststroke pull, and that’s when you are fully extended – straight arms and straight legs. In this first swim, Beejoy is demonstrating a common error — pausing with the hands under the chin. Whatever momentum she built up in the pull is lost. In this second swim, Beejoy has done a good job of removing that pause. Her pull builds up momentum in expectation of a strong kick.
