Monday morning visitors…?

A little bird told me that there will likely be a visitor to our Monday morning swim. The Times-Call is doing a story about the pool situation. The story will likely have more impact if we have plenty of people show up.

If your alarm goes off early Monday, and you’re considering rolling over and going back to sleep — DON’T. Please come swim.

Also — remember city council meeting this Tuesday at 7 pm!

Updates for May

Centennial Pool Update: Centennial Pool might finally emerge from its long winter nap. The latest update indicates a “mid-May” opening. So if we all think happy thoughts, we might be done with our early mornings at the Rec Center20190502_172713 in a couple weeks. I’ll let you know if I hear something more concrete.

City Council Meeting May 7: We hope to make a big appearance at the next Longmont city council meeting on Tuesday, May 7. Meetings take place at the Civic Center council chambers, 350 Kimbark St. This coming week’s meeting is a study session, so hopefully it will not be a long meeting. (Link to agenda) The meeting starts at 7 pm, but target getting there by 6:45 to allow for parking, signing up to speak, and mingling with your fellow citizens.  And, — oh, yeah — there will be BUTTONS. If possible, wear blue.

Pool Poll Results: The Longmont Times Call front page story today (May 2) reports there is a slight majority in favor of a tax to finance a new pool/ice center. There is less support for multiple aquatic centers with no ice rink. I see this as a good thing if you would like to see a big pool!
